Walberswick Group Workshop

Join me for a half day photography workshop in Walberswick exploring the art of composition and “seeing an image”

This is a vibrant and busy area full of character. During the workshop we will explore a variety of locations including the riverfront with its colourful boats and fishing industry, the old pier, the black houses at the edge of the Dunwich River, the salt marsh and the sand dunes and beach.

We will work on identifying subjects, finding viewpoints, working with supporting elements using lines, shapes, patterns and textures.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of ability and cameras and is all about composition and the art of “seeing an image” rather than camera settings and technical data.

This is a 3 hour workshop and includes a set of course notes.

Participants are invited to submit their favourite images for comments and feedback after the workshop.

Walberswick Group Workshop.

Sunday 12th September 8am – 11am

Join me for a half day photography workshop in Walberswick. During this workshop we will explore the art of composition and “seeing and image”

Walberswick and its location on the River Blyth is a fascinating place to explore. Characterised by its black houses on the riverfront, its sandy beach and proximity to Southwold harbour this is a vibrant place to explore.

During this workshop we will cover a variety of locations including the riverfront with its colourful boats and fishing industry, the old pier, the black houses at the edge of the Dunwich River, the salt marsh and the sand dunes and beach.

We will look at the wider landscape as well as at more intimate details and will explore different methods of finding and observing images.

We will practice identifying subjects, finding viewpoints, working with supporting elements and incorporating lines, shapes, patterns and textures. We will also look at light and how that affects an image and the use of colour.

This workshop will include a series of exercises which will help you master the different aspects of composition.

The Walberswick Group Workshop is a 3 hour workshop and includes a printed handout and notes.

Participants are invited to submit their favourite images for comments and feedback after the workshop.
