“I have always loved the natural world and am never happier than when I am out exploring with my camera. Through photography I have built an intimate connection with the landscape. It has opened my eyes, taken me on a journey of discovery and allowed me to experience some truly amazing moments”.

Gill Moon PhotographyA little bit about me

I am a professional landscape photographer living and working on the Suffolk Coast. I specialise in landscapes and waterscapes and am passionate about promoting a connection with the environment through my work.

I have spent the last 15 years photographing the Suffolk landscape and getting to know the area intimately through the lens of my camera. I am keen to share this knowledge and have been running photography tuition and workshops along the Suffolk Coast and in other parts of the UK for a number of years.

When I am not tutoring I am out with my camera enjoying the countryside and capturing its beauty and moods through the seasons. My images have been published widely in many photography, countryside and sailing magazines including Outdoor Photography, Digital Photographer, The Countryman, BBC Countryfile, Classic Boat, Watercraft, Classic Sailor, and several local magazines and newspapers.  Examples can be found here >>

My love of the outdoors also extends to the sea and I am an experienced sailing photographer providing images to the yachting press and local sailing community.

My Workshops & Approach

I believe that to make good photographs we have to care about the landscapes we are photographing . This requires knowledge which in turn promotes care and a connection with the world around us. I believe it is this connection that is the key to a good landscape image. It allows us to see something beyond the obvious and produce images that say something different.

When it comes to traveling to new locations this connection takes time to establish when the landscapes are completely unknown to us. This is where my photography workshops come in. Because I only run workshops in areas I really know and understand I can pass my connection and love for the landscape on to my clients.

During my workshops you will learn about the landscapes you are photographing. You will get a feel for the geology,  the natural flora and fauna, the weather and light and all the elements that make the landscape you are working in special. Together with technical and compositional techniques you will have a raft of knowledge to draw on to help you create the best possible images from the locations you are visiting.

I love the landscapes that I photograph and there is nothing better than helping others forge a connection with them. At the heart of all my workshops is the joy that being out in the natural world brings.

My workshops are relaxed, fun fill sessions that forge friendships and inspire creativity.
