Sizewell Photography Challenge
Sunrise and Abstract

£50.00

Sizewell Photography Challenge, Sunrise and Abstract – 30th October 7.00 am – 9.30am followed by a 1 hour zoom session at 7pm on Thursday 3rd November.

New for Autumn – my photography challenges are a new workshop format which will explore different aspects of creative photography.

The workshop is split into a 2.5 hour outdoor photography session and a 1 hour follow up zoom session to review the group photographs.

During the session you will be challenged to create the following two shots:

an abstract sunrise shot which can be made by isolating part of the landscape or by using ICM or multiple exposure (in camera or afterwards in Photoshop)

an abstract image which is made by focusing on small details using a macro or telephoto lens.

You will receive some workshop notes a few days before the session which will talk about making images using macro and telephoto lenses, ICM and in camera and in Photoshop multiple exposure.

During the workshop you will be encouraged to take some ICM images, some in camera multiple exposures or if your camera doesn’t support this feature you can shoot some textures and some landscape images to combine afterwards in Photoshop. We will also experiment with macro and telephoto abstract shots using the fishing boats, old winches, lobster pots and fishing equipment on the beach.

The outdoor session will be followed by a zoom session 4 days later to review your best two challenge images.

This is not a competitive workshop it is a relaxed, fun and informative session where you can learn some new creative techniques whilst exploring one of Suffolk’s beautiful beaches.

You will need a camera and lenses that allows you to shoot landscape shots and close detail. If you don’t have the ability to shoot multiple exposure in camera you will need some editing software that will allow you to combine two images in a creative way afterwards.

The zoom session afterwards will be very relaxed and non judgemental and will be an opportunity to look a two images from every participant with some discussion on composition, style and creativity.
