Sunset & Blue Hour

Landguard Point Sunset and Blue Hour Challenge Workshop.

Sunset and after dark photography workshop – Saturday 22nd June, 6.30pm – 10pm, 5 places available. Plus an included (but optional) 1.5 hour long zoom session afterwards on Thursday 27th June at 7pm to look at everyones best images and discuss post processing techniques.

Join me for a 3.5 hour photography workshop on Landguard Point, Felixstowe. During this workshop we will explore the art of composition and “seeing and image”, taking in the sunset (weather permitting) and staying after dark for some night photography. We will try some long exposure work around the old pier and across the harbour and will then focus on the docks as the light fades and the lights switch on.

During the workshop I will provide tuition to help you complete the following challenge. To produce 3 images:

A long exposure shot

An image that depicts sunset

An after dark image

This workshop is a relaxed, fun and informative session where you can learn some new techniques and discuss your images afterwards with myself and other workshop participants.

For this workshop you will need your camera, a tripod and a cable release (or use your cameras self timer). You may also want to bring a torch. If you have graduated filters these will be useful for sunset work. I have some Lee filters that can be borrowed during the workshop if desired. Please ask at the time of booking.

Landguard Point is a fascinating place to explore. Dominated by views of the docks it is well light and perfect for night time photography with great views across the harbour towards the docks and Harwich beyond.

We will cover:

Composition, Long Exposure Photography and shooting after dark.

The workshop includes:

A full set of course notes sent via email before the workshop
