Friday Photo walk – Exploring Contrasts at Landguard Point
Friday 30th June 9.30am – 11.30am
Friday Walk and Talk Photography Challenges
Join me for a new series of photo walks each with a separate theme. The idea is to create a friendly community of photographers who meet once or twice a month in a different location for a walk, a chat and a photography challenge. You can come on as many or as few walks as you wish – there is no obligation to come to every event.
I will set you a challenge and will provide some notes to help you with this challenge. You will receive these before the walk. During the walk I will be on hand to give advice and help with any questions you may have.
This walk is all about exploring contrasts in our photography. These can be physical eg. working with light and shadow, or textures or it can be more subjective. This is a fabulous area to explore the contrasts between the natural world and the more industrial container port. It is also an area full of history with several reinforced concrete huts, pillboxes, searchlight shelters and tank traps dotted around the beach. These man made structures are in stark contrast to the wild nature of the area which is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The beach supports a wide variety of flowering plants and the contrast between these and the more industrial landscape is something we will be exploring during the walk.
