Description
Coastal Flowers Photo, Process and Print
Tuesday 3rd June 8am – 4pm
Join me for an 8 hour photography workshop on the beautiful coastline at Shingle Street.
This area is one of the best examples of vegetated shingle found along the Suffolk Coast and in June the beach blooms with the colourful displays of sea kale, sea pea, red valerian, vipers bugloss and sea campion. These plants make wonderful images in their own right as well as colourful additions to a wider landscape shot.
This workshop is all about creative flower photography. We will be working with macro or telephoto lenses to create dreamy images using a shallow depth of field and selective focus. We will practice the art of shooting through foliage to create blurred areas of colour. We will also experiment with multiple exposure using both in camera and post processing techniques.
The workshop will begin at Shingle Street at 8am where we will spend half the session making our images in the field. We will then move to my studio in Hollesley (10 mins down the road) where we will spend the rest of the session processing and printing two of our images. During this time we will look at processing techniques to get the best out of our flower images using Lightroom and Photoshop.
We will be working to create two individual images using different techniques which will process and print during the workshop. At the end of the session each participant will leave with two A3 (or similar) fine art prints of their work.
Requirements
You will need a macro or telephoto lens for this workshop. The ability to do in camera multiple exposure is useful although not essential as this can also be done in post processing.
