Bawdsey Beginners Workshop – Friday 20th May 10am – 1pm

If you are new to photography and would like to know how to get off auto and get to grips with your camera then why not join me for a morning beginners group workshop at Bawdsey.

The workshop will take place beside the River Deben in the little hamlet of Bawdsey Quay. The workshop will begin with a coffee / tea and cake at the Boathouse Cafe on the Quay. Here we will have the opportunity to chat about camera settings and the basic theory (not too technical, I promise) behind taking a photograph in aperture priority and full manual mode.

Once we have enjoyed out cakes and got an idea of the theory we will progress outside to put the theory into practice.

This workshop is aimed at beginners who are using an SLR camera. It is intended as a starting point and we will cover the basics to give you a good grounding and enable you to go away and continue your photographic journey away from your camera’s automatic modes.

In this session we will cover:

Aperture, ISO and Shutter speed and the exposure triangle

How to take an image in aperture priority, shutter priority and full manual.

How to focus correctly

How to compose an image.

What is included:

Tea / coffee and cake at the Boathouse cafe in Bawdsey

3 hours of tuition
