Norfolk Coast Seascape Workshop

Saturday 7th February  6.45 – 14.30 with an optional zoom session on Wednesday 11th February at 7pm to discuss images and post processing.

Join me for 7.5 hours of photography on the Norfolk Coast looking at the art of seascape photography. We will be working with traditional seascape images at Cromer Pier, minimalist long exposures at Overstand and texture and streaky water at Happisburgh.

The workshop will begin at Cromer where we will have the opportunity to photograph sunrise over Cromer Pier. We will also have time to explore the beach and take some shots of the town reflected in the sand.

From Cromer will will travel to Overstand where after complimentary coffee / tea and bacon rolls from our camper van we will work with the high tide to create some minimalist long exposures using the wooden groynes.

The workshop will finish at Happisburgh where we will be working to show motion around the various posts and metal structures.

 The workshop includes:

A full set of course notes sent via email before the workshop

7.5  hours of tuition in two separate coastal locations

Complimentary tea / coffee and a bacon roll from our campervan (if you want one, if not please bring a breakfast snack with you.)

The option to borrow a tripod and filters if required

A 1.5 hour zoom session on Wednesday 11th February to discuss images and post processing.

Aims:

To create a sunrise image that shows a wider seascape scene.

To create a minimalist long exposure using a shutter speed of around 2 minutes.

To create an image that shows texture and motion in the water.

These three challenges will be used as discussion for the Wednesday night zoom session.

You will need:

Your camera and tripod

ND filters (preferably a 10 stop) and grad filters if you use them.

A remote shutter release would be useful.

A lens in the region of 24-70mm
