This self study book is a course within a book.

The course explores the idea of contemplative photography and how we can use this to engage with the natural world through our photography. The aim of the course is to improve your photography skills whilst developing an understanding and connection with the landscape. 

The book covers 14 different topics with an exercise for each topic. The aim of these exercises is to make you think about how you see the landscape, interact with it and how you can use these skills to help with your photography. 

The workbook is A 5 in size, contains 80 pages and is split into sections with 14 different exercises. These cover the following subjects:

Understanding the landscape and maps,

Observation,

Elements within the landscape,

Intimate landscapes,

Conveying the essence of a landscape,

A Sensory journey,

Composition, Points, Lines, Shape and form, Texture, Colour and Light.

The workbooks and associated workshops have been part funded by the Amenity and Accessibility Fund administered by the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB.
