Friday Photo walk – Discovering Detail on the River Blyth

Friday 3rd February 9.30am – 11.30am

Friday Walk and Talk Photography Challenges

Join me for a new series of photo walks each with a separate theme. The idea is to create a friendly community of photographers who meet once a month in a different location for a walk, a chat and a monthly challenge. The walks will take place on the first Friday of every month (or the nearest to that date depending on my schedule).  You can come as many or as few walks as you wish – there is no obligation to come every month.

Each walk will have a theme and the themes for the first 6 walks are set out below. They are not really tuition sessions but I will be on hand for any questions you may have and to help out where needed.

February’s walk is all about seeking out details and making images from the smaller things in the landscape. For this walk we will be exploring the area around Southwold Harbour. Here you will find fishing huts, old wooden boats, fishing nets and lobster pots as well as more natural elements like estuary plants and sand dunes. The aim of the walk is to test your powers of observation and see what small scenes you can identify and capture. There are hundreds of possible images in the harbour all waiting to reveal themselves to those who are up for the challenge.

If the harbour cafe is open there will be time at the end of the walk for coffee and a chat about the mornings photography.
