Ancient Woodlands in Spring Creative Workshop

Friday 10th May 9am – 12 midday.  5 places available. Plus an included (but optional) 1.5 hour long zoom session afterwards on Wednesday 15th May at 7pm to look at everyones best images and discuss woodland post processing techniques.

Join me for a 3 hour workshop in the magical fairytale woodland of Staverton Thicks. It’s ancient woodland is a landscape of fairytale qualities where vast oaks stand side by side with some of the tallest holly trees in Britain. This is one of my favourite areas of woodland in Suffolk but it is also a very chaotic place that can be difficult to photograph. However when you get your eye in it is fantastically rewarding and an enchanting place to explore.

Working with complex scenes we will look at simplifying images, isolating subjects from their background and working with light and composition to capture the essence of these beautiful ancient woodlands.

We will cover:

Composition and seeing an image in a woodland setting,  techniques for creative close up work and post processing techniques for woodland images.

The workshop includes:

A full set of course notes sent via email before the workshop.

3 hours of tuition in Staverton Thicks plus an included (but optional) 1.5 hour long zoom session afterwards on Wednesday 15th May at 7pm to look at everyones best images and discuss post processing techniques. I will send out a Zoom link with your workshop notes a few days before the session.
